Flirt Boutique
Northeast Minneapolis is finally getting some fashion action. The latest addition to the East Hennepin/St. Anthony Main shopping area is Parc Boutique, a men’s and women’s clothing and accessories shop specializing in premium denim from labels such as James Jeans and Fortune Denim. 328 E. Hennepin Ave., Mpls.; 612.353.4966; parcboutique.com
Upscale bridal house Priscilla of Boston, which includes Platinum, Vineyard and Melissa Sweet lines, has opened a full salon in Edina. The 5,000-square-foot shop boasts 10 dressing rooms, an array of accessories and bridal experts eager to squeal about your upcoming wedding. 3926 W. 50th St., Edina; priscillaofboston.com
After the success of its Dinkytown location, Covered boutique—one of the best local shops for a girl to get some jeans—has opened its second location in Uptown, adding men’s denim and tops. Come prepared to ogle vibrant patterns, soft fabrics and funky accessories. 1201 Lagoon Ave., Mpls.; 612.825.1610; shopcovered.com
Want to dress like Ashlee Simpson? The first BCBG Max Azria store in the Midwest (not including the outlet in Albertville) has opened in the Edina Galleria. New summer styles include halter-cut jersey dresses, Athens-style strappy sandals and thick leather belts that tie in front. 69th and France, Edina; 952.922.8130; bcbg.com.
Re-locations
Status
Three years ago, Status sneaker boutique opened in Calhoun Square, giving guys and gals the chance to get the bright orange and purple high-tops they’ve always wanted. Now the store is moving across the street into a minimalist, gallery-style setting with the shoes displayed as works of art. Check out Lacoste’s Missouri 85s, my favorite pair. 1205 Lagoon Ave., Mpls.; 612.824.3100; statusstyle.net
ReGifts
Ryan and Tina North are single-handedly helping save Minneapolis from the perils of environmental disaster. In 2006, they opened ReGifts, a gift shop full of recycled, sustainable wares in south Minneapolis, and last year they opened Twin Cities Green, an eco-friendly home/life store in Uptown. Now, the two are merging into one planet-saving mecca in the Twin Cities Green location. As Ryan said, “By combining the two, we cut down on our own and our customers’ traveling, use fewer resources and lower our carbon footprint.” Way to take one for the team. 2405 Hennepin Ave. S., Mpls.; 612.374.4581; twincitiesgreen.com
