Blank slate describes itself as a theater for social change and its productions produced by its youth company take a serious look at topics such as bullying and mental illness.
The Blank Slate Theatre production experiences place special emphasis on the artistic process. The Blank Slate Theatre members attend Twin City theatre performances, meet and learn from professional artists and mental health professionals, and tour award-winning theatre spaces. Cast members also complete service projects pertaining to prevalent morals and themes within the blank slate theatre show they are rehearsing, and engage with powerful guest speakers whose life experiences align uniquely with particular show themes.
