When Tabatha Coffey takes over, there’s a good chance that tears will be shed.
The infamous hair stylist has helped turn around dozens of failing salons using her harsh criticism and no-B.S. attitude as host on the hit Bravo series, “Tabatha Takes Over.”
In her latest episode, airing on Tuesday night, Coffey brings some tough love to Minneapolis-based Jungle Red.
In an interview, owner Suzanne Erickson said “no matter how good the business was, we were never completely financially stable.”
So when the opportunity arose to be on the show, she and her teamed jumped on board.
“[The producers] wanted to come to Minneapolis and they loved the name of our salon, so when they asked if we were interested, we said yes,” Erickson says.
Erickson is obligated to stay mum about the outcome of Jungle Red’s episode until it premieres Tuesday night, but there is a good chance tears will be involved
“Tabatha really is brutally honest,” the salon owner says.
Still, Erickson seems to be embracing the opportunity. Jungle Red is hosting a viewing party for the show at Seven Sushi Ultralounge and Skybar, 700 Hennepin Ave., Mpls, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday
The event will hosted by NOW 96.3 radio personality Shannan Paul and feature the launch of Jungle Red’s new hair style, The Sex Kitten, as well as a live Skype-in from Coffey herself.
The event is free and open to the public.
+ Jungle Red is located at 1362 Lasalle Ave., Mpls. For more information about the salon visit jungleredsalon.com.
