“Home Turf”
Michael Schmidt’s oil paintings explore the beauty and variety of everyday life. He finds endless ideas for paintings in the abstract forms of the urban environment.
Michael grew up in Canada and studied art at the University of Toronto. He has worked as an artist ever since moving to the Twin Cities 18 years ago. He paints in his home studio in the Como Park neighborhood as well as his studio space in the Northrup King Building. Michael’s work can be found at St. Paul’s Grand Hand Gallery and Pizza Nea in Minneapolis. He is currently having a show of his work at Salon George in St. Paul.
