Opening on the Town Green

A longtime community dream came to fruition June 17 when the Maple Grove Town Green and Bandshell (7991 Main St.) opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a Classic Big Band performance. The new bandshell has a 105-foot-wide canopy, a 55-foot-wide stage and hillside seating for 500 people on the west shore of Arbor Lake.

A Grand Opening

The new Maple Grove Library (8001 Main St. N.) opened May 22, and hosted more than 10,000 visitors on opening weekend. At 40,000 square feet, the library is almost three times the size of the old one on Elm Creek Boulevard. The new library has 12,000 more books, CDs and DVDs (for a total of 114,000); 21 more computers for a total of 69; a drive-up book drop; a green roof; and a parking ramp.
