Valentine's Day Advice From the Hart
By Bobby Hart 2/05/10 12:59 PM

I’ve never claimed to be a love doctor—or even a semi-smooth guy. I admit it: I’ll probably be spending Valentine’s Day in sweat pants with a six-pack on the couch, watching Weird Science for the 800th time (my kind of romantic comedy). But hypothetically speaking, if I were in a long-term, meaningful, romantic relationship with a real woman, I’d probably ditch Kelly LeBrock for a romantic night on the town.
Now remember, I’m no expert, so take this advice with a grain of salt. But if you’re looking for something to spice up your typical date night, head to Maple Grove’s Cambria Suites at 9655 Grove Circle North. There you can get a Valentine’s Day/Romance Package for the weekend of February 12-14, and for $95 a night, you can stay in a Deluxe King Suite, which includes a bottle of sparkling wine and a box of gourmet chocolates along with a hot buffet breakfast in the morning. (Just ask for the PCLBR8 rate when booking.) I was able to tour Cambria Suites when it had its grand opening in August (read about at www.metromag.com/0p283b24be27/welcome-to-hotel-heaven/), and I thought the facility and its rooms were very impressive.
Below are some local places I recommend for V-Day gifts:

Roses are Red…
Every woman loves flowers, right? Here is where you can find the best roses in town:
-Donato’s Floral, two-time winner of Maple Grove Magazine’s Best Of contest (Best Floral category), 7788 Main St. N., 763.416.0488. www.donatosfloral.com
-Maple Grove Floral, runner up in Maple Grove Magazine’s 2009 Best of contest, 13708 83rd Way N., 763.420.7673. www.maplegrovefloral.com.
-Bachman’s (Byerly’s in Maple Grove), 12880 Elm Creek Blvd., 763.416.8100.

Nothing Says “I Love You” Like Chocolate
Want to satisfy your sweet tooth with your sweet heart? Here are some prime places to get your fix:
-Rocky Mountain Chocolate, 7888 Main St., 763.773.7623. www.rmcf.com
-Grandma Ruby’s Sweet Shoppe (featured in the February issue of Maple Grove Magazine), 10803 93rd Ave. N., 763.424.3792. www.grandmarubys.com
