STYLEDLIFE closes downtown location
Accessories and music boutique STYLEDLIFE has closed its Gaviidae Common location and is planning to move its Galleria store into a larger space within Galleria this fall. The shop has been a staple in the Twin Cities fashion scene for three years, carrying a wide selection of belts, jewelry, hats and just about anything that can spruce up a plain outfit. Its personal styling business, styledlook, will now be based exclusively out of the Galleria location, making it a one-stop shop for your fashion fixes. 3635 Galleria, Edina; 952.928.888
Corset picks up new fashion line
Need a fresh look? Corset, Hopkins’s personal styling boutique, has just added Not the Same (a.k.a. NTS) to its collection of trendy and sophisticated clothing. The Euro-chic line includes a denim trench coat, tons of vests, a funky black cargo skirt and loads of other options. Better yet, it’s available in sizes extra-small to double extra-large. 715 Mainstreet, Hopkins; 952.224.2495
taj salon & spa recycles hair waste
Just about every salon in the Twin Cities uses aluminum foil to color hair, but only one recycles its foil post-dye-job. Brooklyn Park’s taj salon & spa has proudly announced its intention to reduce unnecessary waste by bringing all used foil to a St. Paul salvage yard. They've also started donating hair waste to an organization that turns the scraps into mats that can be used as drip-catchers for oil changes or leaky cars. Taj hopes to get other salons to jump on the bandwagon because, as owner Jeanne Strandin puts it, “Our little business might not make a huge difference, but think of the difference 10, 20 or even 100 salons could make?” Spread the word. 9744 Schreiber Terrace, Brooklyn Park; 763.416.7775
Scandia Down opens in Galleria
Luxury, relaxation and pampering are the key ideas behind the new Scandia Down flagship store in Galleria. The 1,900-square-foot shop oozes comfort with a wide array of linens, children’s furnishing and bathroom necessities—many of which are made with eco-friendly materials. It’s the perfect opportunity to jump-start that bedroom overhaul you’ve been planning. 3540 Galleria, Edina; 952.920.2214
