The Walker Art Center is far from lacking in collections to display. With exhibitions ranging from postwar art to avant-garde film of the 1960s to newly created environmental works, it seems the only thing the Walker lacks is the time and space to present it all. Offering a solution to this dilemma is the Event Horizon exhibit. Event Horizon – based on a term that describes the edge of observable space – is an exhibition that threads together major themes and developments in contemporary art, showcasing the hidden secrets of Walker collections and reflecting the many voices, perspectives and programs advanced by the center over the last 50 years. A stage for performances, dialogue and screenings, Event Horizon is a rotating exhibit that encompasses art of today while embracing art of the past, displaying more than 80 works over the next two years.
