What started innocently enough as a kitchen hobby back in 1998 has required a giant leap of faith—and the help of the family orchard—for Bodylish founder Nora Schaper. She and husband Jay, who helps run his parents’ Minnetonka Orchards, have seen the business grow from Nora’s love of essential oils to opening up a kiosk in Edina’s Southdale Center to marketing more than 20 products online at bodylish.com, some of which use products grown on the sprawling Minnetrista farm. “I’m always looking for a purpose behind my products and to serve a need,” she says. So we asked Nora to share with us some of Bodylish’s bestsellers and what makes them so special (and, yes, delish).

Peace Bath Bomb
Seeking world peace? Bodylish has the answer—at least when it comes to achieving peace in your own little corner of the world. This bath bomb is the company’s bestselling product, and it’s meant to soothe and refresh. The bomb might be dry to the eye, but it’s packed with almond and jojoba oils, leaving skin silky smooth. With an essential-oil combination of peppermint, rosemary and lemongrass, it’s a great elixir for easing tension and getting rid of headaches. $5.

Sunny Daze Bath Salts
Now here’s the perfect remedy for those uncomfortably long, bitter winters we’re all too familiar with. Sea salt, which draws impurities out of the skin, teams up with refreshing citrus (orange and lemon) and uplifting geranium oils. These salts work especially well when you’re not feeling well, are sore and/or tired. $8.

Down to Earth Shampoo Bar
Schaper is on the cutting edge of hair care with this shampoo bar; it offers a thorough, gentle clean, but doesn’t  include harsh sulfates that can strip the hair of natural oils, body and shine. “Shampoo is one of the worst things you can do to your body,” she says. Filled with eight moisturizing (olive, castor, coconut, palm, kukui nut, cocoa, jojoba, sweet almond) and essential oils (rosemary and peppermint are both great for hair follicles), this soap lathers really well and makes a great gift. $10.

Dude Lube
The name is funny—it’s meant to be—but the formula of this moisturizer is totally serious. Inspired by her husband Jay (her rendering of his arm graces the label), Nora created this for “the real dude and his skin.” There’s nothing fussy about it, but the silky oils and subtle smoky scents of black pepper, nutmeg, sage and clary make it pretty hard to resist. Remember: Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. $15.

Fresh Face
This online-exclusive spritz—Nora’s favorite Bodylish product—helps regenerate skin growth, moisturize and refresh. Its ladylike mix of essential oils (rose, sandalwood, carrot seed and patchouli) is subtle enough to spray on hair and clothes for a scent that lingers just enough, and is gentle enough (meaning water-based and safe) to spritz on the face for an anytime pick-me-up. $22.

Apple Brown Betty
The newest member of the Bodylish family, this comforting bath soak, which comes in a cute cloth sack that you hang in the stream of running water, is especially well-suited for kids and anyone with sensitive skin. Between the soothing old-fashioned oats, vanilla bean, cinnamon and mulling spice—and dried apples fresh from Minnetonka Orchards—this oatmeal bath is nothing short of pure deliciousness. It’s so natural and homegrown you really could eat it, Nora assures, but not without a little butter and sugar! $4.
