Why I Like Lunch Cube
By Tammy Sproule Kaplan 11/24/08 1:33 PM

I tried some of the food from Lunch Cube last week. It's a new lunch delivery service in the downtown MInneapolis area. It is physically located in the North Loop and you can do pickup, by why would you? It's only been around a few weeks, and here are some of things to love about it:

  • It's green. Delivery is by bike or smart car for big orders.
  • Delivery is free.
  • The minimum amount to spend for delivery is $8, so it's very reasonable even for just one person to order lunch from there.
  • January is coming.
  • You only need order approximately 30 minutes in advance for small orders (a day's notice for large orders).

The menu is focused on artisan sandwiches, homemade soups and salads. I tried the smoked ham and creamy brie panini with an apricot glaze and the chipotle tuna salad classic sandwich, along with the Santa Fe chili and tomato red pepper soups. Yum! The portions were generous. The breads were very fresh and hearty.

The delivery radius is identified on the website, but it expects that the area will continue to grow quickly.
