A recipe for romance: one part love poetry, two parts wine and chocolate tasting and a heaping helping of locally-made jewelry, candles and objects d'arte; mix everything together at the Artist Mercantile in St. Paul. The Mercantile's annual Valentine's event is this Friday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Members of the St. Paul Slam Poetry Team will deliver live, lovey-dovey poetry all night. Participants will sample wine and chocolate while they listen to the romantic musical stylings of St. Paul acoustic artist Sam Hall. But the main event is the works of over 65 local artists. From jewelry to candlesticks and bath products to Valentine-inspired works like stained glass decorations, and paintings, the Artist Mercantile supplies everything to create true romance this V-day.
